The Tsuyazaki tideland (Tsuyazaki Higata) in Fukutsu, Fukuoka Prefecture, is on the Environment Ministry's list of Japan's 500 most important wetlands. The Tsuyazaki tideland is an inlet about 0.9ml (1.5 km) inland from Tsuyazaki fishing port. There is almost no other place in Japan that is similar to the Tsuyazaki tideland, a wetland in a bay. It has been described as a paradise for unusual species.
