Galaxy Harajuku

Entertainment Art & Architecture Insta-worthy

Galaxy Harajuku, which opened in Tokyo in the spring of 2019, is the largest showcase in the world of Samsung Electronics’ smartphone brand Galaxy, and it has been garnering attention as a new sightseeing spot in Harajuku. The front of the establishment is lit by over 1,000 smartphones, and the interior, from the first underground level to the sixth floor aboveground, has a futuristic design reminiscent of outer space. Inside, one will find a VR experience at which visitors can become astronauts and walk on the moon; novelty attractions to enjoy such as Social Galaxy, which allows people to link their Instagram accounts and project photo collages onto display screens; and even an area where visitors can learn about the history and evolution of mobile phones while browsing displays of the manufacturing processes of the different versions of Galaxy handheld devices and smartphones. In addition, visitors can borrow the newest smartphone, the Galaxy S20, from the reception counter and use its digital guide "Buddy" while in the facility. This feature allows visitors to enjoy the latest features while walking around the building as well as reserve spots in the VR experience, making their visit all the more convenient.
