Atago Jinja is a Shinto shrine located near Hiroshima station. While there are multiple shrines with the same name throughout Japan, including in Tokyo and Kyoto, the Atago Shrine in Hiroshima is famous among baseball fans. Fans of the local team, the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, come here to pray for successful matches. If you attend a baseball match of the Hiroshima Carp team in the nearby Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium, you should definitely stop by, even if just to observe the passionate fans.
